Fair Conditions
Obviously snowy but the crew and staff have done a great job making it playable from most tees.
About the Course
Dellwood is a destination course. The scenery is gorgeous, the course design is very fun, and provides a great challenge. It's the eighth best disc golf course in the world, and it shows. There are 18 regular holes with 9 alternates allowing for a 27 hole game that flows pretty well. I find if you start on 13 it flows much better with less random hiking between holes. That being said there still is a ton of walking, plus extreme elevation changes; (throwing off a 70 foot tall cliff?, Yes please). The nice part is you have the wooded technical holes, plus flat wide open field bomb shots as well. The field is very wide open and seems to have swirling wind even when it's calm. In the middle of the 2 long holes on the field is over grown with some plants you will see. If it's not mowed over, do not throw a disc in that stuff. It's absolutely impossible to find it, might as well be a lake. As of 5-15-21, they have begun letting the rough grow out. As of 7-28-21 the over growth in the field between 8 and 11 has been mowed. The creek is in play on many holes as natural ob. It can be pretty deep and fast moving at times. You can get discs out of it a majority of the time, but it's not fun when the water level is up. Also worth a mention is the pro shop in the parking lot. It has a great selection of discs, snacks and drinks. All in all the course is well worth a drive to play, but I would not call it beginner friendly. Course brochure:
