"I don't get the hype for this course - 4 stars would be a more realistic rating. Most of the F9 is just repetitive filler wide open shots working your way up the hill. The woods are better but still not great. There aren't distinct lines to hit on a lot of them. Just a scramble of trees about 50 ft short of the basket. Or just open shots that are 'in the woods'. That left probably 5 good holes, 18 obviously taking the cake. Maybe it was just the current pins? Hiestand park is wayyy better imo. "

"A crazy fun course in any configuration. Shorts are awesome for a more casual, yet technical round w/ friends. The longs are super for a harder and more technical course. Another great course in the Mad City"

"Great course. Well marked, except to get to the tee box at 18. Dont make a left toward the tee you’ll end up backtracking up Mt Elver. A few basket placements were off by 50 ft or so. Overall great weather and a good time. "

"Great course with some fun technical shots and a bit of woods. Loved playing it but being my first time on the course it could use a few small things like arrows for the next tee box, indicators on which teebox you are throwing from but otherwise well maintained and tons of work has obviously been put in this course. I loved it and would highly recommend to all skill levels. (Played long blues)"

"I didn't realize how spoiled I was with Elver until I started playing other cities. Fantastic course with a great mix of open and wooded holes. Sometimes foot traffic up the big hill can slow down play on 2/3/4 and play tends to back up a bit on 17/18, but the course is very well maintained with a great mix of lines to hit. The course designer also did a good job of letting the different tee and pin locations change the shot shape as well. Definitely recommend if you're in the Madison area."

"I played the long pads to long baskets and the layout had it all. From the long to long it’s very demanding with a mixture of open and wooded holes that incorporate elevation and all sorts of distance extremely well. It will challenge you to have every shot in your bag. I wouldn’t recommend playing after it has rained as the cement tees as it was extremely slick. "

"I only played this course once and that was in September of 2020. I give Elver a 4.0 because of how pretty it is and how much everyone else loves it, but as all par 3 it’s ridiculously hard and I will probably never play here again."

"This was the first course I played growing up. After playing dozens of other courses in the midwest I gotta say I was lucky to start here. It has all sorts of challenging shots. Fair course layout, nothing wacky. You should try to get out here if you’re in Madison. "

"They don't seem to change pins from the long placement that often, unless they do it on a by day basis, but it is a great course! "

"Challenging course. 2 pins possible per hole. Mixed use course. Have to be careful of others especially on holes 2, 3, 4, and 18. Some inaccurate signs."
