About the Course
Designed by PDGA Hall of Famer David McCormack #2873, Big Chuck DGC is an 18-hole double-loop course spread throughout nearly 20 acres of the new Veterans Memorial Park. The course was named in honor of retired judge Charles “Big Chuck” Miel. The front 9 is shorter and more technical, providing great introductory play for beginners. The back 9 is longer and more challenging for those looking to test their abilities. The Rotary Club of Stanton spearheaded the project, providing the funding and direction to make this course a reality for the community and guests. The Central Montcalm Community Foundation provided grant funding for the cement tee pads and benches. Each hole is sponsored by local businesses and nonprofits throughout the Central Montcalm community. The way-finding signs were gifted to the course from the Montcalm County Road Commission. The baskets are Gateway Disc Sports Titan Pro-24. The City of Stanton hopes to add an additional set of baskets to each hole in 2023. The City staff is still working on this course and values feedback from players. Please reach out to the city manager for any suggestions on how to continue improving this course: Parking at the old elementary school or gravel parking lot to the north. Hole layout signs will be installed in the coming days.

"Really fun course! Mostly shorter holes, great for my beginner-level fam, but lots of technical shots to challenge and grow us."

"Probably one of my top 5 favorite courses. Very fun layout. Nice baskets and cement tee pads. Signs show two baskets but only the shorter ones are in. "
